Since last week, the “Sakura” Japanese restaurant is closed. Sushi lovers must find a new place in the area to enjoy Japanese cooking. Sayonara “Sakura”, Ciao pizzeria restaurant “Il Vesuvio”.
Thank you Karine for the update.

Le Sumo yakitori restaurant
Originally uploaded by moshimoshi experience
moshimoshi experienced last Thursday the famous yakitori restaurant located in les Pâquis. Always a great journey to sit at the U-bar, listen to the Jazz music, ordering few yakitori and drinking Asahi beers.
Positive : genuine Japanese taste, amazing surroundings, wide range of yakitori, set menus (soup+yakitori+rice).
Negative : small quantities, price, must make a reservation, small space.
Just go and enjoy.
Challenge? Got the Chef to crack a smile.

The first experience was not positive. Nigiri and temaki were very bad cooked. Sashimi were great. All for 100 EUR. After this first visit, I said no more Sushi Raku.
This week, I went to Annemasse and tried again Sushi Raku for a lunch.
Yakitori were good, tare sauce not enough tasty. Sushi not special but ok, better than the first time. 2 plats du jour + 2 beers = 44EUR.

We had the chance to get a table in this small Japanese restaurant. Do you remember Madame Yamakawa? Same place, same deco, same great experience.
With my friends we enjoyed the menu (~100CHF). Very tasty 3 appetizers, yakitori, sashimi, sushi, and miso shiru. The wine list is interesting, perfect service. Negative feedback: small tables, wall seats not comfortable, and the price a bit high (with quality and freshness).
moshimoshi enjoyed the cuisine from the former Uchino sushi chef in Versoix.
moshimoshi will have dinner at Kakinuma. Stay tuned, moshimoshi will report soon.

A large choice of sushi, sashimi, hot dishes and even chirashi-zushi to take-away. Some tables at the fisrt floor if you want to enjoy your meal seated. Fresh, but the rice was overdone.
